From the Desk of of the Head of School - April 6, 2018

Dear Parents,

Here we are. The home stretch. Over the next two months, we say our goodbyes and hellos, celebrate our successes and reflect on our failures, wrap up this year and plan for the next. I must say, it is my favorite time of the year. There are a few key indicators that always make me take notice that the end of the year is upon us:

  • What were once perfectly fitting pants in terms of length, now look more like capri pants…
  • The lines of students in the halls now have one - maybe two - students hugging their teacher as they get back to class...
  • Smiles have a lot more holes in them in our lower school…
  • 7th graders are walking a little taller because they’ve finished their year-long science projects...
  • The cursive handwriting on class projects is much neater....
  • The language department has launched the Language Hunger Games…
  • The 8th grade DC Trip T-Shirt has been selected…
  • Mr. Folger is playing disc golf at Kever Park…

While it can feel like an incredibly busy time of year, it is this energy around our school that fuels our students’ growing confidence in their skills, comfort with themselves, teachers and friends, and reinvigorates all of us as we work to end on a high note.
