  • What is Shadow Day and when should I schedule one for my child?

Shadow Days are days in which your child will visit Harding Academy for an extended period of time. Shadow Days are a great opportunity for your child to participate in classroom learning, build relationships with their potential teachers, and experience our school culture. When applicants shadow at Harding Academy, they will be paired with a “Shadow Day host;” they will attend all classes (including specials) with their host. During Shadow Days, the Admissions team also takes time to interview the student and allow them to ask questions about the school. We will also provide them with a tour of the school. Applicants will shadow a student that is in the grade they are applying to, not the grade they are currently in. (For instance, if your child is applying to grade 5, your child will shadow a student in grade 5.)

The Shadow Day schedule can be found in your Parent Portal. Please select a day that works best for your family. Shadow Days are about half of a school day (dismissing immediately after lunch), however the exact time of dismissal is dependent on what grade you are applying to. Your child should dress in an outfit that they feel comfortable wearing.
  • Is Financial Aid availability and how does that impact my application?

Financial Aid is available for both new and returning families. The Financial Aid application and review is a completely separate process from the Admissions Committee review. Harding Academy allocates Financial Aid based on demonstrated need. To learn more about our Financial Aid application process, please visit our Tuition and Financial Aid webpage.
  • Does Harding require students to wear a uniform?
