Athletics and physical education are important avenues for developing self-discipline, teamwork, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship, qualities that equip a person for success in any area of life.
Harding has a long tradition of offering cross-country as an after-school activity for students in grades kindergarten through fifth. Goals of the program include learning the fundamentals of running, pacing, and mental stamina, and teaching form drills and core training.
At the middle-school level, Harding offers twenty-one competitive team sports and numerous interscholastic activities. Every middle school student who wants to participate competitively has the opportunity to do so at Harding.
