Musical Arts

From learning beat and rhythm through song in PreK, to studying composers in second grade, to choosing an instrument for the school orchestra or band in fifth grade, to starting a rock band with fellow student musicians in middle school, Harding's music curriculum and options build musical appreciation and literacy for students at every grade level.

In a program that provides music education in grades PreK-8, students experience both vocal and instrumental music and have a wide selection of exposure and performance opportunities both inside and outside of school.

In addition to curricular classes in chorus, band, and orchestra, Harding also offers a unique opportunity for experienced strings players in grades K-8. As a multi-grade performance group, "Harding Strings" provides the opportunity for students to collaborate on a weekly basis in preparation to headline at several city-wide events each semester.
