From the Desk of the Head of School- March 4, 2022

Dear Harding Academy Learning Community,

One of the wonderful things about a PreK to 8th Grade school is the opportunity to see how children can be stopped in their tracks with wonder.

Wonder is a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable.

I would posit that teachers feel most fulfilled when they have initiated wonder in their students not only because of something they’ve uncovered for their students that is unexpected, but when they have made the familiar, unfamiliar and thereby stoked curiosity.

This is the kernel of lifelong learning. The more experiences our students have (and the more we seek the opportunities to create these experiences), the closer we are to achieving our mission.

So I encourage you to slow down and see where you might find the wonder in your life and share that with your family and with us.

Have a great weekend.
