A Message From The School Nurse: May 23, 2021

Good morning parents,

We made it!

It is our final week of school and I find myself reflecting on the 2020-2021 school year. Even after all of the preparation prior to our doors opening to students in August, I was unsure of how this year would pan out, and if we would be able to continue in person learning for the entire school year. Here we are at the end of May, and not only were we able to stay open, but I think it was a great year. While I would not wish for a pandemic again, I can’t help but be grateful for the ways that we grew in this experience. In my opinion, we have grown closer together as a community. We’ve all worked together to get where we are today and I am grateful for each of you and the combined effort it took all of us, for the sake of our students and the value of in person learning, as well as the value of an excellent remote learning option. I have gotten to know more parents this year than in years past, and although it was over talking through COVID-19, isolation and quarantine timelines, etc, I have enjoyed getting to know more of you. Thank you for your part in helping us keep our doors open, and I hope you have a safe and enjoyable summer.

Medication Pick Up

If your child(ren) has any medications that are kept on campus; whether in my office or in their classroom, they will need to be picked up from me prior to summer break. As a reminder, we are not permitted to store student medications at school over the summer. Unfortunately if they are not picked up I am required to discard them, which I would rather not do. Emergency medications (epipens, inhalers, etc) can be picked up from me on Wed, May 26th, or Thurs, May 27th. If you, or another designated adult, are not able to pick them up on either of those days then please email me so that we can find a time for you to pick them up. Any other medications that are not for emergencies, and may not be needed the last week of school can be picked Mon - Thurs from 7:45 am to 3:30pm.

COVID-19 Testing

Just a brief note stating that, although we will be open for camp this summer, we will not be providing COVID-19  testing. The last day that we will be offering testing is Thursday, May 27th.
