The Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team opened the season with a big win 9-4 win against Woodland. The team opened up with a quick goal to take an early lead but Woodland answered to tie the score. The Generals added another score to take a 2-1 first quarter lead and an additional two goals in the second quarter to take a halftime lead of 4-1. They never looked back.
Evan Cuffe starting his first game in goal for Harding had an outstanding game with 3 saves. The defense played a solid game collecting 67% of the ground balls led by William Vreeland (4), William Stanley (3), Jack Spellman & Luke Haley with (2) each, Harrison Mabry, Hayden Hultman, Grayson Soper & Charlie Crumbo collecting (1) each. With William Vreeland winning 63% of the face-offs and our ground ball dominance we had control of the ball most of the game. We were led in scoring by Luke Haley (3) goals, Charlie Crumbo & Harrison Mabry (2) each and William Vreeland and James Johnson with (1) each. Mabry, Johnson & Crumbo each had (1) assist.
The Harding boys are back in action on Tuesday, March 14 with the home opener against J.T. Moore. Go Generals!!
