Varsity Girls Basketball Wins Warm-up for Tournament
Playing at the site of the conference tournament in just over two weeks, the Varsity Girls Basketball team won easily over Merrol Hyde 31-15.
On a frigid and snowy day outside, the Generals brought the heat in the first quarter, jumping out to a 12-0 lead. The defense dominated as well in the third quarter, again shutting out the home team 10-0. Scoring was well balanced among 7 different Generals, led by Lowery Nickels and Abby Andrews with 8 points each. Maggie Cannata and Ellie Faber each chipped in 4 points, Cece Bayliff scored 3, and Zara Bracegirdle and Anna Perrone added 2 points apiece to round out the scoring.
