The Varsity Girls Basketball team clamped down on defense to claim a 40-12 win over Hendersonville Christian Academy and tally their third straight victory to start the season
After shutting out the visitors 8-0 in the first quarter, the Generals gave up seven points in the second quarter to take a 16-7 halftime lead. From there, the defense clamped down, yielding only two made freethrows in the third quarter and a banked-in three-pointer in the fourth quarter. Despite a tough night shooting from the field, the Generals crashed the offensive boards for a host of second-chance opportunities. Five different players scored four points or more, with Lowery Nickels (16 points) and Zara Bracegirdle (10 points) leading the way with their hard work in the paint.
