The Lady Generals showed dramatic improvement in their January 20th game against the Ensworth Tigers. With just a few minutes to go, the Generals led Ensworth by three points before facing a tough press defense by the Tigers that forced some costly turnovers. Despite the loss, the Generals improved on both the offensive and defensive end.
Point Guard Abby Morrison led the Lady Generals with a career high seven points, while Centers Avery Cooper and Isabella Montgomery each dropped in a basket from the block. Point Guard Maddy Hartleroad continued her aggressive attacks to the basket and improved her passing, which is making her a true threat to any opponent. As to be expected, the scrappy defensive trio of Evie McKenzie, Layla Perkins, and Charlotte Gunnels had several steals, forced turnovers, and rebounds each. Margaret Grobmyer and Sophi Stankiewicz (returning from injured reserve) saw their first action of the season and brought welcomed fresh legs to each 20 minute half.
The Lady Generals will face Hendersonville Christian away at 6pm on Friday, January 26th.
