Varsity Wrestling Opens with a Victory Over Ensworth
The Harding varsity wrestling team opened up its season with a 60-18 victory over visiting Ensworth. Winning exhibition matches for the Generals were Mason McKee '17 and Zachary Nelson '15. Several first year wrestlers gave a great effort in their exhibition matches including Hutch Morel '17, William Stanley '17 and Drew Lancaster '17.
In the contested varsity matches, Harding won 4 of 5 bouts all by pin. Alex Ray '16, Cooper Craig '16, Will Higgins '16, and Garrett Schultz '15 were victorious in those matches. Hutch Morel, Daniel McGuire '16, William Myers '16, Seve Ortale '15, Zach Nelson and Scottie Koehner '15 all won by forfeit as Ensworth did not have wrestlers in their respective weight classes.
The Generals are back in action next Tuesday when the FRA Panters visit the Roberts Gymnasium at 4:30pm.
