Varsity Girls Basketball Sleepwalk Then Wake Up to Win Big

Coach Chris Holleman
The Varsity Girls Basketball team were sleepwalking through the first few minutes of their 11 a.m. tip-off before waking up to win big at Nashville Christian School 36-16.
A groggy group of Generals generously spotted their hosts an 8-1 lead, including 2 points scored by the Generals for the home team.  The Generals then went on a 9-0 run to finish the quarter up 10-8, highlighted by the sharp shooting and strong dribble drives of Abby Andrews and an acrobatic 3-point play finished by Zara Bracegirdle.  The second quarter belonged to Bracegirdle, who feasted on careless passes by the home team, finished two more acrobatic 3-point plays and scored 7 of the Generals' 10 points.  The girls extended the lead in the third quarter and never looked back as they cruised to the win.  Bracegirdle led all scorers with 12 points, Andrews added 9, MiMi Bond pitched in 7, Ellie Slagle had 4, and Ellie Faber and Cece Bayliff each finished with 2 apiece to round out the scoring.
