The Harding Academy JV-B Volleyball team came up two points short of a victory in their game against the Saint Paul Christian School JV squad. After being soundly defeated in the first set, the odds did not look good for the Lady Generals.
Setter Lauren Payton, working through the pain from a minor injury sustained in the first match, returned to lead the Lady Generals with her intensity and experience. With a new rotational order, server after server poured balls over the net to secure a solid win in the second set.
Energy ran high as the third set began. The lead swung back and forth several times before St. Paul scored the two points needed to close the door on the Lady Generals 15-13.
Although they came up just short, this game certainly set the tone for many games to come. Isabella Montgomery led the Lady Generals with 8 serving points with Lauren Payton and Ariana Papaioanu each scoring 5 points.
