Varsity Boys Basketball Loses To a Tough Calrksville Academy in the GNAC Finals

The Generals defeated Merrol Hyde Magnet in the GNAC semifinals before facing Clarksville Academy for a third time in the GNAC Finals on Saturday, February 13. To start the game, the Cougars came out firing. They were able to take a 13-0 lead after the first quarter. In the second half, the Generals kept pace with the Cougars. However, the damage from the first half was too much to overcome. The final score was 43-23 in favor of the Cougars. We did have two players receive all-conference honors. Greydon Franck was named First Team All-Conference and Alston Aron was named Honorable-Mention All-Conference. It was a great season for the Generals. I'm going to miss coaching eighth graders Haynes Owen, George Mabry, Hedges Hayworth, Alston Aron, Cole Williamson, and Wilson Berry. This team finished as the #2 seed in the tournament with a 11-3 conference record. It was an honor coaching this fine group of young men. I'm so proud of their efforts and finishing GNAC Runner-Up to a very good Clarksville Academy team.
