Varsity Girls Basketball Shuts Down Merrol Hyde
The Varsity Girls Basketball team's stingy and stifling defense shut down Merrol Hyde to claim the win 38-13 in their first home game of the season.
The aggressive full-court pressure applied by Ellie Faber, Abby Andrews, Cece Bayliff and Lowery Nickels forced the visitors to expend precious time and energy in an often futile effort to even cross half court, where they had difficulty getting an open look for a shot. The resulting frenetic pace led to a multitude of turnovers, run-outs and easy layups. Eight different players scored, led by Andrews and Nickels with 12 each.
