The Varsity Girls Basketball team, with their relentless full-court pressure, won their first game in a hostile environment on the road at Poplar Grove. The tandem of Ellie Faber and Abby Andrews harassed the back court of Poplar Grove for four quarters, forcing numerous turnovers that led to run-outs and easy buckets. The back end of the press and the defense, with contributions from Lowery Nickels, Zara Bracegirdle, Maggie Cannatta and Mimi Bond, more than held their own in the paint and on the boards against the much taller front court of Poplar Grove. Andrews paced the team with 16 points, Nickels added 5 and Faber pitched in 2 to round out the scoring.
