With a 2-0 Victory over JPII, the Lady Hawks earn their way into the Semi Finals with a first round bye in the HVAC A Tournament.
It was all Hawks from the opening kick as the Girls Varsity soccer team brings home a regular season ending victory over Pope John Paul II on Tuesday. Jagger Davies started the team off with a first half goal, slipping it in the corner past a confused JPII defense to put the Hawks up 1-0. With incredible midfield domination from Snow Mannes, Kate and Lexi Fulghum, the Hawks finished the half with the lead.
The second half brought a second goal from 8th Grader Sumner Hanks to give the Hawks a comfortable 2-0 lead with less than 15 minutes to play. Grace Thigpen and Libby Sloan both had some breakaways that could have added to the scoreboard. And, as always, the back line was solid, keeping JPII out of our Red Zone for the majority of the match. With that win, we secured the top seed in the A Tournament bracket and will compete in the HVAC Semi Final Match on Tuesday, November 18th at CPA at 430pm.
