Varsity Girls Lacrosse Battles to the End in Overtime Thriller Against Brentwood Middle
The Harding Academy Hawks girls’ lacrosse team showed incredible determination and grit in a nail-biting matchup against Brentwood Middle School. The game ended in a 5-5 tie in regulation before heading into a tense overtime period, where Brentwood edged out the Hawks 6-5 in a hard-fought finish.

From the opening draw, the Hawks brought intensity and teamwork to the field. Margaret Greathouse kicked off the scoring with a strong goal early on, followed by standout offensive efforts from Louisa Smith and Caroline Sheets each netting a goal. Riley Bertelli led the charge with two impressive goals, keeping Harding in the fight through every quarter. In the net, Evelyn Beauchamp stood tall for the Hawks, racking up six crucial saves and keeping her team in the game during pivotal moments.

Draw control was key to Harding’s momentum, with Louisa Smith leading the team with four, followed by Sarah Disher with two and a critical overtime control by Caroline Sheets that kept hope alive during the extra period.

Despite the tough 6-5 loss in overtime, the Hawks showcased resilience and teamwork throughout the game. They left it all on the field, proving they are a team to watch this season.

JV Girls Lacrosse Battles Hard in Tough Loss to Brentwood Middle
The Harding Academy Junior Varsity girls lacrosse team fought with heart and hustle in a competitive matchup against Brentwood Middle School but ultimately came up short in a hard-fought loss. Margaret Greathouse led the offense with an impressive three goals, while JG Embry added two of her own. EG Moats also found the back of the net twice, with Grace Thigpen and Libby Sloan each contributing a goal, showcasing the team’s offensive depth.

Draw control played a big role in the game’s momentum, with EG Moats dominating the circle with five controls. JG Embry followed closely with four, while Charlotte Thigpen and Libby Sloan each added one, helping the Hawks gain valuable possessions. In goal, Olivia Donahue held strong under pressure, making seven key saves to keep Harding in the game and give her team a fighting chance.

While the final score didn’t go in the Hawks’ favor, the JV squad displayed great teamwork, energy, and determination throughout. It was a game full of effort and lessons that will only make the team stronger as the season continues.

JV Girls Lacrosse Shows Heart in Challenging Matchup Against Harpeth Hall
The Harding Academy JV girls lacrosse team faced a tough opponent in Harpeth Hall, falling 4-15, but the score didn’t tell the whole story. The Hawks showed heart, hustle, and grit from start to finish, continuing to grow and develop as a team.

JG Embry led the offensive charge with a hat trick, scoring three of the team’s four goals. EG Moats added another goal, rounding out the scoring and keeping the Hawks in the fight. In the midfield, draw control efforts were shared with Jojo PerkinsonEG Moats, and JG Embry each securing one, and Sara Disher picking up a crucial control off a foul, helping Harding battle for possession throughout the game.
Defensively, Fielding had a standout performance in goal with 11 impressive saves, keeping the Hawks in the game and showing great resilience under pressure.

Despite the final score, the team showed real progress and a never-quit attitude, laying the groundwork for future success. The effort and energy were there — and that’s what counts.
