Girls - Friday, Nov. 22 5:00-6:30pm and Saturday, Nov. 23 9:00-10:30am
Boys - Friday, Nov. 1 5:00-6:30pm and Tuesday, Nov. 26 12:00-1:30pm
*It's highly encouraged to attend both tryout dates, but it is not required
Varsity Girls Soccer Beats Valor 5-1
Girls' soccer got its first win Monday night over Valor. Louisa Smith led the team with four goals. Riley Bertelli scored her first of the season to help the Hawks advance. Margaret Greathouse held down the defensive end, allowing only one goal off a direct kick.
Varsity Girls Soccer vs. BGA
Girls soccer played a tough match against BGA Wednesday night. After a scoreless first half, Harding took the lead off of a breakaway goal by Louisa Smith. BGA tied things up with 8 minutes to play off a penalty kick. BGA would eventually score again in the final minutes to take the lead. Caroline Sheets, Sumner Hanks, Logan Scott, Margaret Greathouse, and Snow Mannes held down the defensive end. The Hawks are back in action against FCA on Monday night. Go Hawks!
Varsity Boys Soccer Wins Big 10-0
Wrestling Falls to Ensworth
The Harding varsity wrestling team traveled to Ensworth on Thursday, Oct. 24 for their second dual meet of the wrestling season. The Hawks fell to the Tigers with only 8th graders Ben Lucas and Finn Castle able to come away with victories, both by way of pins. 5th Grader John Bickerstaff was also able to score a pin in an exhibition match. The Hawks conclude the first week of competition with a 1-1 record.
JV Girls Soccer vs. Valor
Harding JV girls soccer had another tough fought game against Valor. The final score was 4-1 with Valor taking the win. Our goal was scored by 8th grader Ellie Cornwall! The girls played a great first half and are continuing to learn the in’s and out’s of the game and teamwork. A shout out to Karson Speyer for really turning it on and giving all she had in the second half. She reflected the power of effort and not giving up when we were down.
JV Boys Soccer Open the Season With Strong Win vs. Valor
The Harding JV Boys soccer team come out with a strong opening game as they take down Valor Collegiate. The team came out firing scoring in the early minutes of the game. That would be a foreshadow of what was to come for the rest of the match. The defense held strong the entire game with strong pressure and intensity. Our Goalie, Gabriel Pallecer Martinez '27, was new to the team, but made many great saves the entire game.
There were many players that scored this game and helped to keep our strong lead. Leo Galentino '27 and James Thomas '27 lead the way in scoring with two goals each. That was followed up by goals from Nash Donahue '27, Ethan Bannock '27, Henry Hardin '27, and Will Thompson '27.
JV Boys Soccer Tie in a Close Game vs. BGA
Harding JV Boys soccer were back in action on Thursday against BGA. The boys are coming off a big win and were looking to continue that streak. BGA had size and speed, but the boys did not back down. The game started out rough with BGA taking a 0-1 lead in the first half. The boys fought back back to tie the game with a penalty kick by Henry Wimberley '27 to make it 1-1.
As the game went on, it was a back and forth battle with both teams have chances to score. Late in the second half, BGA had a chance to take the lead with a penalty kick. The scoring chance was stopped by James Thomas '27 as he made a great save to keep the score tied. The boys finished the game strong with a final score of 1-1.
JV Boys Soccer Have Another Strong Win vs. Pope Prep
The Harding JV boys soccer team had their last home game of the season yesterday against Pope Prep. They boys had a short warm up as the Varsity played right before and won in a mercy rule, but that did not effect their play.
The Hawks came out strong in the first half with multiple shot attempts and chances to score eventually going up 2-0 at halftime with Ethan Bannock '27 scoring both goals. Th second half was more dominance as our offensive attack had more chances, but Pope's defense held us scoreless.
The Hawks would win the game with a final score of 2-0 and will look to continue their winning ways next weeks as they take on MBA next Tuesday, November 5th.

Varsity Boys Soccer Wins Big 10-0
The varsity team hit the field last night firing on all cylinders and put on a top-tier performance across the board. Playing with aggression, control, and relentless energy, every player contributed to this historic victory. Our defense was air-tight, allowing absolutely nothing through, while the midfield play was relentless and suffocating. Up front, our attacking force was unstoppable, leading to the first game ever at Harding to be won under the mercy rule.
Scoring Highlights:
- Henry Rupert kicked things off with two back-to-back unassisted goals, showcasing his versatility by scoring first from the left side and then from the right.
- Smith Morris then took center stage with an impressive dribbling display, adding two more unassisted goals of his own.
- Jackson Hall joined the action, netting a goal with a great assist from Robert Thompson.
- In a team play display, Henry Rupert turned to assist, setting up Smith Morris for yet another goal.
If you’re having trouble keeping up, you’re not alone! The team was scoring so quickly, we couldn’t finish adding one goal to the scoreboard before the next was on its way. Continuing the momentum, Elijah Westbrook found Riley Husbands for a clean finish. Smith Morris then brought out his one-man show again with a breakaway after a steal, netting yet another goal. Riley Bundren capped off the first half by coming out of goal to score on a rebound after Henry Rupert’s blocked shot but adding to his assist total. At this point for anyone doing the math, I am aware that the above only covers nine of the goals scored. This is because neither the players nor the coaches could account for the when, where, and how of one of the goals. Rest assured we'll get it sorted at practice. Our starters looked sharp, and every player coming off the bench was focused and ready to contribute immediately. This was Harding’s first game to end under the Mercy Rule, with the game concluding at halftime after scoring nine unanswered goals. It was truly an incredible performance from everyone involved, and a huge congratulations to the team for this impressive win. Let’s keep this momentum going forward!
