Please welcome our new Volleyball Coaching Staff!

 

We are excited to be welcoming two new coaches to our varsity volleyball staff for the 2021 season! Please see their bios below and feel free to reach out and say hello. 

 

Corinne Cascioppo has been hired as the new varsity volleyball coach at Harding. Originally from California, Corinne played volleyball competitively from a young age in school and with traveling club teams, growing up to be the 18th top recruit in the nation of her graduating high school class. She received a full athletic scholarship to play collegiate volleyball for the University of Hawaii and was a part of the 2009 team that went to the NCAA finals. 

 

Corinne is the eldest of five sisters and moved to Nashville in June of 2019 to pursue her career as an artist along with a higher education opportunity in architecture. She now looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with the athletes at Harding Academy.  

 

Maureen is the new varsity assistant at Harding Academy. She is a USAV and AAU certified volleyball coach. Prior to joining Harding Academy she served as Assistant Director and Coach at MOJO VBC in Milford, MI. In addition to her roles as Assistant Director, she was the U15 Navy Assistant Coach and Head Coach for the Youth U10 Developmental Program. Maureen was also the Huron Valley Rec and Ed Volleyball Coordinator, overseeing the Volunteer Coaches training and Youth Clinics. Maureen has been active in youth volleyball since 2003.

 

Besides bringing her coaching strengths to Harding Academy, Maureen brings an understanding of parenting a volleyball player. Her daughter, Lexi, played rec, school and club volleyball for 8 years and still plays today. She also has a son, Austin, who kept her busy as a musician and rugby player. Maureen is a Speech-Language Pathologist and owner of Little Speech Boutique.

Coach Cascioppo will run a team camp in the final week of the summer camp season leading into the start of volleyball tryouts/practice. This camp will serve as great preparation for the season and will focus on building the foundational skills and endurance to go into the season with confidence. Daily team bonding exercises, scrimmages, and also 1-1 lessons will be included in this well-rounded week-long camp. 

 

Coach Cascioppo will run a volleyball skills camp designed for rising 3rd-5th graders. This camp will focus on fundamental skill development in the sport of volleyball in a fun and engaging way. There will be plenty of 1-1 lessons and team scrimmaging opportunities will happen daily throughout the week.
