During the first semester of fourth grade science class, students studied force, motion, work and machines. In December, students took what they studied into creating, designing and describing an invention that could be helpful to others. They also developed an advertising campaign and commercial which they presented in class.
This year, Mrs. Trimble incorporated some lessons from an amazing non profit organization called Little Inventors. Little Inventors is a creative education organization that inspires imagination by taking children’s amazing ideas seriously. Their mission is to give children across the world the opportunity to develop and showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills, build their confidence, curiosity and resilience to become caring citizens of our planet, all invaluable attributes that will support them as adults in their everyday life and chosen career paths.
Harding fourth graders took the inventions they created for our classroom unit and uploaded their design and description to Little Inventors before the break. The Little Inventors team just uploaded every Harding fourth grade design to their website along with constructive feedback from their design staff. Click here to view their inventions! Make sure to set the country to US and city to Nashville to view their inventions! We are so proud of our students and so thankful for a great learning experience from Mrs. Trimble, Lower School Science teacher!
