The Harding Academy wrestlers have won two matches and lost one over the past week of competition. The team is really hitting its stride as we head into the final week of the season culminating in the HVAC tournament next Saturday, November 17 at Brentwood Academy.

Last week, the Generals traveled to BGA in Franklin where they wrestled a tough Wildcat team. Earning victories in the varsity match were Nathaniel Nelson '19, Matthew Wenkoff '21, Grant Gilmour '19 and Mark Ryan Henderson '19.  RJ Perkins '22, Seby Nelson, Walker Lindsey '19 and Max Lisnyanski all had wins in exhibition matches.

This week, Harding had two convincing wins against Grace Christian Academy and Nashville Christian School. In the combined dual meets, the Harding boys only lost one match that was wrestled. The only points given up to GCA were due to forfeits. Winning for Harding on the mat against GCA were Michael Datillo '21, Eli Heaney '19, Conor Corby '19, Max Lisnyanski, Nathaniel Nelson '19, Huston Thrasher '19, and Chase Franck '19. Will Glover '21, Hudson Frazier '21, Matthew Wenkoff '21, Grant Gilmour '19, and Mark Ryan Henderson '19 all received forfeits.

In the match on Thursday, Nov. 8 against Nashville Christian, the Generals ceme out on fire and stormed out to a 60-6 advantage before a loss and two forfeits set the match score at 60-24. NCS was given 18 points to forfeits, so the Generals dominated the matches that were wrestled, winning all by pin. Winning varsity matches by pin were Hudson Frazier '21, Eli Heaney '19, Michael Datillo '21, Conor Corby '19, Nathaniel Nelson' 19, Grant Gilmour '19, and Mark Ryan Henderson '19. RJ Perkins and Seby Nelson won their exhibition matches by pin as well. Will Glover '21, Huston Thrasher '19 and Matthew Wenkoff '21, all received forfeit victories.

The Generals improved their season record to 4-2 with the two victories this week. Heading into the final week of the season, Harding has matches against the Nashville Catholic club team and Brentwood Academy next Tuesday and Thursday respectively. Go Generals!!
