Jason Embry
The varsity cross-country teams competed in the HVAC Division A finals at the USN River Campus on Wednesday, September 26. The girls ran an excellent race and took home the HVAC championship for the second year in a row. We had nine girls set a new personal record in their final race of the season. Carly Frist was able to take 3rd place overall  in a time of 13:57. Maggie Soper took home 8th place overall in a time of 14:32. Our top five finishers to go along with these girls were Julia Hermann (12th place, 14:47), Mia Sjursen (14th place, 15:15.35), and Mary Haley (15th place, 15:15.91).  With these times we were able to defeat Poplar Grove 52 to 68. We also had four girls set a new PR each week of the season. They were Layla Perkins 15:16, Kendell Tierney 15:30, Addy Cook 15:32, and Riley Jones 15:35. We are so proud of this team! Congratulations on a very successful season!
