Austin Peay State University State Math Competition

On Thursday, April 12 Mrs. Alley and Mr. Stemple took 12 middle school students to the state math contest at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville. Representing Harding were sixth graders Raleigh Maxwell, Vishi Parikh, Eli Galentino and Margaret Grobmyer; seventh graders Jonathan Chung-Bruehl, Conor Corby, Nicholas Tesauro and Margaret Clark and eight graders Ryan Schmadtke, Cate Frist, Maria Weir and Krishin Parikh.

The sixth grade team brought home the 5th place plaque out of 25 schools.
The 7th grade team took 8th place out of 25 schools.
The 8th grade team placed 9th out of 25 schools.
These students performed very well. Harding is a small school from which 4 students are selected out of 18. We compete with schools that select 4 out of 100 or more students. Please congratulate these fine math students for their hard work.
After the contest we all enjoyed lunch at Steak n Shake. It was a long day, but everyone had a great time on the field trip. Many thanks to Mr. Stemple for driving the van.
