Music
The Harding Academy music programs strive to provide an environment in which students may learn to understand and appreciate music, may be inspired to develop their individual talents, and may share those talents with others through musical performance. Having the knowledge of and appreciation for many different kinds and styles of music instills within the Harding student the confidence to pursue further musical opportunities. Our music teachers encourage students to be careful, diligent musicians regardless of their talent, while also challenging their musical experiences. It is our belief that musicians can be enthusiastic, energetic, motivated by challenge, patient, understanding, creative, and adaptable.

Chorus is included in each student’s weekly curricular experience to afford him or her the opportunity to strengthen the musical skills of reading, singing and playing. Harding requires each student to participate in either band or chorus. The goal of the music program is to help students to understand and to appreciate music. Band or chorus is for any student who wishes to participate in a group that will perform a variety of material during school events and for organizations within the Nashville area.
