Harding Academy class of 1988 alumna Jenny Boucek was hired Tuesday as coach of the WNBA's Seattle Storm.
Boucek, 41, has spent the past four seasons with the Storm — as associate head coach under Brian Agler, now coach of the Los Angeles Sparks, in 2014 and as an assistant from 2011-13.
"It's an honor to be part of a world-class sports franchise," Boucek said. "Seattle has a great championship legacy, and I am excited to team up with (Storm president/general manager) Alisha (Valavanis) and our ownership group as we enter the next era of Storm basketball."
Seattle finished last in the Western Conference in 2014 with a 12-22 record.
Boucek scored more than 2,000 point during her high school career at USN (1989-1992) where her jersey was retired during a ceremony at their school last month.
