From the Desk of the Head of School- December 2, 2022

Dear Harding Academy Learning Community,

This season of thanksgiving has always been a favorite time of year for me and this year is no exception. My family continues to be thankful for the Harding community and the generosity of spirit that permeates everything we do in our learning community. Over the last few weeks we have come together to help meet the needs of the greater Nashville community as best we can.

  • Prior to the Thanksgiving Break, we collected 100 boxes of food for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. What an amazing accomplishment! To celebrate reaching our goal, we will have a special Harding Spirit Dress Day on Wednesday, December 7. Please note that the same expectations for a Friday Spirit Dress Day will apply for this special Spirit Dress Day. Many thanks to Mimi Harris and Rebecca Sheaff for leading the charge on this on behalf of the Harding Parents Association, and to our Blue 8th Grade Leadership team, facilitated by Jason Embry, who helped to organize the supplies.
  • Over the last week and a half, Harding families have gathered holiday gifts for 150 angels through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. What an impact these gifts will make for families in our Middle TN community. We are grateful to Ginger Wimberley and Kim Drake for heading up this project. Huge thanks to Mike Dabrowiak, Jeremy Tujague and Peyton Embry for helping move the gifts from Harding to Salvation Army.

I am proud of our community and how we have gathered together to help serve the broader Nashville community. Thank you for helping to model this for our children.

Have a great weekend!
