Harding Athletic Highlights 3/28-4/1

Varsity Girls Lacrosse Wins 14-2
The Harding Varsity Girls’ lacrosse team got their first win of the season with a dominating 14-2 victory over Pope Prep. Emerson Smith led the offense scoring 4 goals and recording 3 draw controls. Carter Floyd, Lexi Lampka and Lauren Sullivan each scored multiple goals as well. 
Ruby Gunnels, Olivia Zanetti and Narcissa Broome all scored their first goals of the season. Susan McCarley, Lela George, Neko Mannes and Narcissa Broome held down the defensive end of the field only allowing 2 goals from Pope Prep’s offense. The Hawks return to action on Wednesday March 30th with an away game against Harpeth Hall.

Varsity Girls Lacrosse Falls To Harpeth Hall
Harding girls' lacrosse fell 13-5 to Harpeth Hall on Wednesday 3/31. Gracie Meriwether and Lauren Sullivan scored 2 goals each and Carter Floyd added a goal as well. Emerson Smith led the team in ground balls picking up 7. Girls’ lacrosse returns to action this Friday, April 1st at home, against Page middle school. The start time is 4:15.

Varsity Baseball (March 28-April 1)
The Hawks faced a tough opponent in Monday's loss against CPA. While the hits weren't falling their way, Benton Wright and Sam Bowers each had one hit with Sam driving in one of the two runs on the day. The offense still managed 4 walks and 9 Quality at bats on the day and showed signs of life in the later innings scoring in the 3rd and 4th innings. Camden Haren pitched fantastic in his first performance of the season only needing 4 pitches to shut down the CPA offense. The Hawks will look to bounce back with two league games next week against USN and FRA.
