From the Desk of the Head of School- November 2, 2018
Dear Parents,
You may have noticed the banner on the tall wooden fence behind our digital scrolling screen in the hook up lane which depicts our progress for parent participation in the Harding Fund. It is steadily gaining red stripes as more and more of you commit to a donation. First, thank you to those who have donated already for your support of this critical fundraising program of the school - the first and most important gift to Harding Academy.
Second, I encourage those of you who have not yet participated to do so in any way you can, as parent participation (not necessarily the dollar amount) serves as a direct indicator of your belief in the quality of our learning community. Last year we reached 89% parent participation, which, as you look at national metrics, is an incredible achievement. This year we would like to cross the 90% threshold, and further cement our position as a premiere PreK-8 independent school.
The Harding Fund directly impacts the quality of the program your children experience each day. Some of the parts of that program your gift to the Harding Fund contributes to include,
Supporting Exceptional Faculty and Staff
- Extending relevant professional development opportunities to our faculty and staff
- Enhancing our benefits package to attract and retain the best and brightest in the field of teaching
Integrating Technology
- Furnishing classrooms across grade levels with state-of-the-art equipment and tools
Enhancing the Performing Arts
- Providing enhancements to the performing arts programs, thus engaging the creative side of a student’s brain and providing an ideal balance in the student’s pattern of study
Promoting Athletics
- Outfitting the athletic program with proper equipment, uniforms and training space needed for our 21 teams
Developing a Beautiful & Safe Campus
- Making campus-wide security enhancements
- Maintaining a safe and enriching physical plant for students
