Harding Academy Violin News Fall 2012 Semester

Sixth grade violin students (Carter Koch, Caleb Wilkinson, John Gibson Lewis, and Bianca Sass) have performed on several assemblies this semester: 

Sept. 24 - Run-a-bout, Vespers Round, French Folk Song, Allegro
(Mr. Folger, Clem Smith, Stephanie Wilkinson and Davis Arnold joined them for Allegro)

December 3 - Invocation: Chorus from Judas Maccabaeus (Handel)
(joined by Mr. Folger and Davis Arnold) Introductory remarks by Carter Koch

December 10 - Mi Y'malel, Jolly Old St. Nicholas (joined by Mr. Folger, Stephanie Wilkinson and Davis Arnold)

December 20 - Evening Holiday Concert Snow Deer, Make a Joyful Noise

December 21  - Snow Deer, Frosty the Snowman

Several Violin Students from Harding Academy are participating in a public performance with Maureen Riley's Violin Program at Richland Place on December 10.

Carter Koch, John Gibson Lewis, and Bianca Sass performed "Wouldn't It be Loverly" in the opening street scene of My Fair Lady at Harding Academy in October.

Harding Academy students who participated in a Fall Fest Performance on October 14 at the Green Door Gourmet Hidden Valley Farm are: Clem Smith, and Carter Koch

Davis Arnold recently (November) received his One Year Blue Rosette Ribbon Award for practicing his violin and listening to his CD recording every day for the past year.  Congratulations, Davis!  Davis performed Minuet I on the November 12 Assembly and was recognized for this achievement. 

Other violin students at Harding Academy who are participating in a Penny Drive in Mrs. Riley's studio for the Bellevue Food Bank are: Stephanie Wilkinson, Ross Sonday, Megan Parker and Clem Smith.  They are collecting pennies for every piece they practice (or practice minutes)!
