The Hawks entered their second full week of the season and stayed very busy, with a total of three games on the schedule. They went up against a very talented Lipscomb Academy team Monday, but lost a tough one by a score of 28-27.
Charlotte Mikos and
Lauren Sullivan hit a pair of big threes, and
Emerson Smith led the team in scoring with 19 points. On Thursday, the Hawks traveled to GCA for a late matchup against the Lions. Turnovers really hurt the Hawks throughout the game, and they lost on the road by a score of 34-19. The Hawks host Nashville Christian on Friday afternoon for their last game before they head into holiday break. Go Hawks!
Varsity Boys Basketball December 3-9 HighlightsThe varsity boy's basketball team opened their season last Friday night Dec. 3 at MBA. The Hawks started out strong, but ran out of steam in the second half.
Quinn Taylor led the team in scoring with 7 points.
On Monday, Dec. 6 the Hawks hosted Lipscomb Academy. The boys opened up the second half with a 16 to 8 run to take a 40-37 lead at the end of the third quarter. However, in the fourth quarter, the Mustangs went on an 18 to 3 run themselves to win the game with the final score being 55-43.
Quinn Taylor led the team in scoring with 12 points.
Sam Bowers pumped in 9 points and
Thomas Hicks and
Van Roberts had 8 points each.
Last night, the Hawks traveled to Grace Christian Academy to get their first win of the young season. The defensive effort was evident from the start. They also had 8 eight players get in the scoring column.
Van Roberts led the team in scoring with 10 points.
Will Bickley and
Sam Bowers chipped in a 7 points each.
Chase Embry did a great job defensively and scored 5 points in the win.
JV Boys Basketball
The Harding JV Boys Basketball team kicked off their season with a tough 47-8 loss to a tough MBA team. Despite having to play in a tough environment against a very talented team, the Hawks played hard until the final buzzer sounded. McKinley Bradshaw led the team with three points.
The Hawks came back Monday and showed much improvement against Lipscomb Academy. Despite their best efforts, the JV hawks fell short losing 33-27. Camden Haren, Will Bickley, and Benton Wright led the team with six points each. The great defensive effort was led by the likes of Daniel Maumus and Jackson Husbands. Each player has shown vast improvement at each practice and the boys are looking forward to competing again on January 6th against Valor Collegiate.
