The theme of the essay contest was “the main and most important point of my summer vacation.” Liz gave her essay the title, “La Beauté d’un Dimanche Français” – “The Beauty of a French Sunday.”  Liz spent a month in France last summer with the St. Cecilia Academy Veritas Connection Exchange Program.  She lived with a French family and experienced firsthand the cultural differences, especially the French cuisine and the ritual of the leisurely but elegant Sunday dinner spent together with family and friends.

The President of the Alliance Française, Jessie Angel, presented Liz her award at the Cercle de Conversation.  The prizes included $100, a French beret, a French flag, and an Alliance Française year membership. “I am so honored to have received this award and now to be a member of Nashville’s Alliance Française.  I cannot wait to learn even more about French culture and language at future Cercle de Conversations and at the French Immersion Day in the spring.  Vive la France!” exclaimed Liz.
