Below is the obituary for former Harding Academy faculty member Mary Ann Stevens Crews published in the Tennessean on March 9, 2014:

Nashville, TN

Age 83, passed away March 7, 2014 after an extended illness. Born on June 23, 1930. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Crews; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest C. Stevens; sister, Miss Evelyn L. Stevens. 

Mrs. Crews is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Crews Sundock (Jon); and her son, Kenneth M. Crews (Cara); grandchildren, Ben and Sophie Sundock and Clay Crews. 

Mary Ann was a 1949 graduate (and later teacher) of East High School. A 1953 graduate of Vanderbilt University, she taught students in the Metro-Davidson County Public School System as well as several private schools in the Nashville area. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. 

The family will receive visitors at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. A service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be William J. Tallent, Jr., Henry R. Chassaignac, David A. Bertani, Steven T. Marlowe, Jason MacPherson, Benjamin C. Sundock, and Clayton D. Crews. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Charles Daniels, Ken Marston, Harold Morrison, Gary McDuffee, Andrew Barr, and Robert Wehby Fiddler.
