From the Desk of the Head of School- September 23, 2022

Dear Harding Academy Learning Community,

Every once in a while I will use this space to provide small snippets - windows - into the comings and goings of all of us here at Harding Academy on Windsor Drive.

This week I saw:
  • 6th graders in Language Arts debating the finer things in life, like sentence fragments, subjects, predicates, and the value of punctuation.
  • Students learning about the ferocity of hurricanes in geography class from the Weather Channel coverage of the devastation which has just happened in Puerto Rico.
  • 5th graders enjoying their lunch out on the Compass Rose.
  • Parent volunteers stitching and painting in and around the theater in preparation for our fall musical, Moana Jr.
  • The first group of 8th grade parents coming in to meet with Mr. Codispoti and Dr. Bell one-on-one about the high school placement season.
  • PreK transforming the Natural Outdoor Playspace into an imagination wonderland.
  • Pictures from Vanderbilt’s Wond’ry featuring our 3rd graders with one of our alums contemplating the design and development of prosthetics.

As you can see, the days and weeks are varied at Harding Academy and with every moment we continue to challenge the minds and nurture the spirits of our 509 students. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
