From the Desk of the Head of School- May 7, 2021

Dear Parents,

We have made it to May and as usual this time of year, we all look to the final days of the school year. This year, we have been fortunate to have The Little Mermaid at Kever Park to accent the season. Perhaps more than ever before this spring brings with it the hope of better days ahead. I know it does for me. I’m sure it does for all of you.

I’ve heard from many of you wondering what next year holds for us as it relates to our COVID-19 mitigation and safety protocols. In short, I am optimistic that next year feels much more like a normal year operationally and in terms of the daily life of the school than this year has. Of course, like everything this year, the execution of an optimistic notion is a lot more complicated. While I’d love to make a decision about August in May, I do not think it would be prudent to do so until sometime closer to our starting back up. Having said that, everything is trending the right way for us to hope for getting past this pandemic by the start of school next year.

Here is what you can expect: I will be communicating to you all around decisions on this front in a similar fashion as I did leading up to the 2020-21 school year:

  • July 9: Calendar & Operations
    • School opening events
    • Orientations, Retreats, and Field Trips

    • Buddies and the House System
  • July 23: Health & Safety

I appreciate each and every member of this learning community and what they have both contributed and sacrificed to make this year happen in person, on campus and on time. I really am blown away by how our community has rallied together and I look forward to connecting in real time and in “real” person very soon.

Thank you all so much.

Sincerely,
