Harding Athletic Highlights 1/18-1/22
Varsity and JV Boys Basketball Get First Win Of The Season
The Hawks traveled to Poplar Grove School on Thursday, January 21. Both teams started out well and finished strong in their wins. The varsity won 51-18 and the JV team won 45-4. We had a balanced scoring attack with all the players getting into the scoring column in the varsity game. Will Sanders, JD Codispoti, Van Roberts, and Quinn Taylor led the team in scoring with 7 points each. In the JV game, Camden Haren led the team in scoring with 10 points and Eli Russ pumped in 9 points. Thomas Hicks was able to chip in 8 points in the win. These were two great wins for the Hawks. Next week, both teams travel to USN on Wednesday, January 27 to play. Go Hawks!
Girls Varsity Basketball January 18-22
The Harding Academy girls’ basketball team had only one away game this week, as they headed to Ensworth for a matchup this past Wednesday. The lead went back and forth throughout the entire game, and the Hawks took a four point lead heading into the final quarter. Unfortunately, foul trouble and ball security were huge factors late, as Ensworth was able to close out the game at the free throw line with a win, 26-21. The team will look to bounce back next week with two away games against USN and Harpeth Hall. Go Hawks!
