Harding Athletic Highlights 1/11-1/15
JV Girls Basketball vs. St. Matthew
The Hawks opened the basketball season on Monday afternoon with a competitive contest against St. Matthew School. The five girl squadron of Lauren Sullivan, Greer Bodzy, Kipling Miller, Samantha Massad, and Helen Rich played the entire duration of the game. Lauren navigated the court admirably in her role as point guard, while Greer showcased her long distance shooting abilities finishing with two three-point shots on the afternoon. Samantha impressed with her on-court aggressiveness securing a number of possession shifting jump balls. Kipling scored a layup on a superb inbounds pass from Helen and added a free throw at the line.
Varsity Girls Basketball (Jan. 11-15)
The Harding Academy girls' basketball team was a bit short handed this week as many members of the team were in remote learning due to a quarantine. However, this did not stop the team from having a solid, full week of practice. The team is looking forward to getting back to full strength and build off of their last win with two away games against Ensworth and Poplar Grove next week. Go Hawks!
