Harding Athletic Highlights 1/4-1/8

Varsity Girls Basketball Defeats PCA 21-19
The Harding Academy girls' basketball team came back from break with their first two games of the season this week. On Monday, they lost a tough fought battle with Davidson Academy by a score of 23-18.
Gracie Lucas led the team with 7 points, including going a perfect 3-3 from the line after getting fouled on a three-point attempt in the second half. On Thursday the Hawks played PCA and were losing 11-5 at halftime, but got some momentum in the second half by frequently forcing turnovers with their scrappy defense. Evie Frist dominated the boards on both ends of the floor, and chipped in a team-high 9 points. The Hawks outscored PCA 10-4 in the 4th quarter to come out with a win by a final score of 21-19. The team is looking to build off this win as they head into more contests next week. Go Hawks!
