From the Desk of the Head of School- February 1, 2019

Dear Parents,

I am excited to have a day off next week. On Tuesday, a new Head of School will take over. His name is Max and he is currently in the fourth grade here at Harding. I’m not sure what his plans will be, but rest assured, we will all be in great hands. There is quite a lot happening before, during, and after Max’s time as Head of Harding and I thought I’d outline these upcoming activities in case you wanted to partake in the fun.

  • This afternoon, our Girls’ Varsity and Boys’ Varsity basketball teams both play in the semifinal round of the TIAA tournament after knocking off the top seeds last night (3:30 PM and 4:45 PM at Nashville Christian Academy).
  • On Saturday, our swim team will compete in the HVAC meet at Ensworth. It will commence at 2:30 PM at the Ensworth Aquatic Center.
  • More full-scale rehearsals for the All-School Musical, Newsies, kick into high gear next week.
  • 7th graders hand in their data collection ideas to Mr. Folger for the infamous 7th Grade Science Project.
  • 3rd Graders find out what roles they have in the 3rd Grade play.
  • Ms. Elissa in the cafeteria will most likely have her baby!
  • The super-accurate and reliable weather people and apps are predicting a potential snow event on Friday, February 8…

I know Max will be busy and will do a great job. One of the best parts of working at Harding Academy is that there is always something incredibly interesting and/or entertaining going on - thus, Max will inevitably be occupied with lots of simultaneous happenings.

And, no, Max can’t call a snow day two days out….
