2018 Late Fall Athletic Information
Parents and Athletes:
Please find information below for the Late Fall Athletic Season at Harding Academy. Questions on any aspects of the programs should be directed to the Head Coach of each sport. Also,please make every effort to be in attendance at the parent meetings as important information along with season expectations will be addressed by the coaches.
Soccer season is just around the corner! The season will get underway with try-outs on Friday, September 28th (3:00-4:30 PM) at Sohr Track & Field and Saturday, September 29th (9:00-10:30 AM) at Kever Park. The Varsity and JV teams will be announced after try-outs on Saturday. For practice, the girls are required to have their own cleats and a water bottle when practicing at Kever Park. Practice dress will be shorts/sweatpants, t-shirts/sweatshirts, and preferably Harding attire. Practice will alternate weekly between Kever Park and Sohr Family Track and Field. Wherever practice occurs, students will be back at school by 4:40- 4:45 P.M. to be picked up at the depot.
The Parent’s Meeting for JV and Varsity will be held on Wednesday, October 3 at 5:00 P.M. in the gym.
Welcome to the 2018 Harding Academy Boys Soccer season! Practice will alternate between Kever Park and Sohr Family Track and Field. Wherever practice occurs, students will be back at school by 4:40 - 4:45 P.M. to be picked up at the depot. Practice attire includes: shirt and shorts per HA standards, full socks, shin guards, soccer cleats, and sweats and/or rain gear as weather dictates.
The Parent’s Meeting for JV and Varsity will be held on Tuesday, October 2 at 5:00 P.M. in the gym lobby.

Swimming (Late Fall and Winter)
The swim team is open to all middle school students, regardless of swimming ability. Preseason workouts will take place the week of October 1st through October 11th and will be short practices. It will consist of dryland workouts to work on conditioning and strength until 3:45pm. Full Practices will begin on Monday, October 15th and will be run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, until Friday, January 26th. Students will take the bus to Ensworth High School for workouts, and will be back at Harding by approximately 4:15-4:30pm.
Note: Middle School students participating in other sports or activities can still join the team; I am happy to work out the details with the other coaches/activity leaders.
Please e-mail Head Coach Jake Madden (email@example.com) by Friday, September 21, to let me know if your child is interested in joining the team. This reply is not an official sign-up, but more to gauge the number of students who would like to swim with us.
We will be having our swim team informational meeting for parents and swimmers on Tuesday, October 2nd, at 5:00pm, in Mr. Madden’s Classroom in the middle school building. At this meeting we will be discussing meets we will be attending, suit and team shirt orders, and team rules/procedures. I strongly encourage all (swimmers and parents) to attend who are thinking about swimming in either season (late fall or winter), so please put it on your calendar!

The wrestling season will get underway officially on Monday, Oct. 1 in the gym on campus for those not participating in the fall musical. Those in the musical will join us on Monday, Oct. 8. Practice will be from 2:45-4:45pm daily. Wrestlers are responsible for providing their own wrestling shoes, headgear, knee pads, etc. Practice attire will include shorts and t-shirts (Harding gear preferred) and headgear will be worn at all times during practice. No experience required.
The Wrestling parent meeting will take place after practice on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 5:00pm in the gym.
