Harding Parent Association

The Harding Parent Association is a way for you to get involved in your child’s life at Harding. As a Harding Academy community member, participation is a key element in partnering together to educate our children.

Parents volunteer in classrooms, in the library, and on many fundraising and event planning committees.

The HPA’s goals include fundraising efforts to support the school in a way that enriches our students and teachers year round. There is a wide variety of opportunities and all parents are welcome and encouraged to volunteer their time, treasure, and talent, and get involved.

List of 8 items.

  • Concessions

Parent volunteers staff the concession stand for all home games for football, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, lacrosse and baseball. Using school funds, chairpersons purchase and stock all items sold in the concession stand. They work closely with the Athletic Director and coordinate all staffing of concession volunteers.
  • General Store

The HPA operates a school store in the middle school that stocks school supplies, extra P.E. clothes, and spirit clothes for purchase. Chairpersons purchase items for sale and coordinate volunteers to staff the school store during specific hours.
  • Harding Family Connection

This special committee allows members of the Harding community to be supportive of one another. When there is an event in the life of any of our Harding families (death, injury, hospitalization, birth, etc.), volunteers work together to communicate details to the Harding community, as well as prepare meals for the families to let them know that the entire Harding family is here to support them.
  • Kaleidoscope Author Program

A wonderful HPA-sponsored program that brings authors to Harding to enhance and promote reading, these chairs work with the administration, faculty and children on these lectures.

Co-Chairs: Charlotte Scott and Shannon Nizzardo
  • Library Volunteers

A great service to our library, these volunteers commit to a few hours a month to assist with shelving books and other library activities.
  • Nominating

This committee works with the HPA Board and Executive Committee to fill leadership positions for the upcoming year.
  • Photography

Volunteers snap photos at a myriad of HPA events for use in Harding materials and publications.
  • Shopping Program

There are many rebate-type programs that Harding participates in, including Kroger cards, Publix, Box Tops for Education, AmazonSmile and more. Chairpersons promote these programs, evaluate which programs are a fit with the school, and help monitor the funding returned to the school.

Chair: Ansley Wells and Stacey Looper
