  • What are school hours?

    • Regular school hours for Pre-Kindergarten are 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
    • Regular school hours for Grades Kindergarten–8 are 8:00 a.m.–3:05 p.m.
    • Athletic practices, drama rehearsals, and club activities take place after school
    • Morning Care is available beginning at 7:00 a.m.
    • After School Care is available from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
    • On Wednesdays regular school hours begin at 9:00 a.m. for Pre-Kindergarten-8
  • Does the school offer morning transportation for students?

    Harding Academy offers bus service to the campus from the following locations each morning:

    Bellevue - 7:15 AM
    Publix parking lot at the Shoppes on The Harpeth Shopping Center located at Highway 100 and Temple Road (8028 TN-100)

    12th South - 7:25 AM
    Midtown Church at 2415 12th Ave S .

  • Is before and after school care available?

    • Early care is available beginning at 7:00 a.m.
    • After school care is available from 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. for kindergarten students and 3:05 p.m.–6:00 p.m. for students in grades 1–8
  • How do Harding students perform on standardized testing?

    Harding Academy’s students traditionally perform higher than students at other independent schools, as determined by Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP) scores from the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) and Gates McGinitie Reading tests.

    Grade Average Equivalents for total reading on spring Gates McGinitie Reading:
    • First graders scored at grade 3 and 4 months
    • Second graders scored at grade 5 and 1 month
    • Third graders scored at grade 7 and 5 months
    • Fourth graders scored at grade 9 and 8 months
    • Fifth graders scored at grade 10 and 4 months
    • Sixth graders scored at post high school level
    • Seventh graders scored at post high school level
    • Eighth graders do not take the spring Gates tests but scored at post high school level in the fall
  • What classes do students attend in addition to the traditional academic areas?

    All students have music, art, computer, and physical education, as well as weekly library time, in addition to the traditional academic areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies. In addition, K–5 students take Spanish and middle school students choose between Spanish, French, and Latin.

    Harding Academy has teams in twenty-one sports. The athletics section of our website features detailed information regarding all of our teams.

  • Does Harding accept immunization exemptions?

    In order to protect any immune compromised students, faculty, and family members of each, Harding will only accept immunization waivers submitted in compliance with Tenn. Code Ann. § 49-6-5001(c)(2) and (3).
