Alumni Inspire Students at Career Day

Katherine Miller
Thank you to our Career Day participants for making such a memorable morning for our eighth grade students before they embarked on their Middle School Community Service Day, making a positive impact in the Nashville community. We welcomed back speaker Tyler Augusty '00, event chair Erin Hirsch Zagnoev '94, speaker Erin Graves '00, alumni board rep Jay Brothers '81, and speaker Carey Floyd McDonald '97.

Tyler Augusty '00 joined Council Capital as Director of the Council & Enhanced Tennessee Fund in 2014. In this role, Tyler is responsible for the fund’s day to day activities, including all deal sourcing, origination and execution, as well as portfolio monitoring, reporting and administration. He also ensures the fund’s compliance with TNInvestco regulations, working closely with the State of Tennessee’s Department of Economic and Community Development.
Prior to joining Council Capital, Tyler was an Associate for Harbert Management Corporation’s Mezzanine Capital Group, a provider debt and equity financing to middle market companies. He began his career in finance as an analyst for the Investment Banking Group of Morgan Keegan & Company, Inc. Tyler is a member of Leadership Health Care and serves on the Junior Advisory Board and as an ambassador for Best Buddies Tennessee. He earned bachelor’s degrees in finance and real estate from the University of Georgia.

Carey Floyd McDonald '97 graduated from the University of Virginia's School of Nursing in 2005 and moved to New York to work with critically ill newborns and children.  In 2009, she moved back to Nashville and received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and has been working as a nurse practitioner at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital since 2010.  She enjoys the clinical aspect of her work but has also enjoyed the many leadership and teaching opportunities her nursing career has provided.

Erin Graves '00 moved to Dallas, TX after graduating from Harding, then attended Auburn University where she earned her Bachelor's of Architecture. Upon graduation, Erin lived in Birmingham, AL where she worked for a boutique architecture firm and after four years in Birmingham, decided to move back to Nashville. She now works for McAlpine Booth & Ferrier practicing residential architecture.
