Varsity Football Wins For Second Consecutive Week
The Harding Hawks varsity football team won for the second consecutive week, taking down the Ezell-Harding Eagles, 28-12. Although surrendering the opening score and going down 6-0, the Hawks scored the next 28 points to take a commanding 28-6 lead in the 4th quarter. Ezell was able to punch the ball into the end zone one final time late in the 4th quarter to set the final score. Eli Whelan '24 (USN) was the star of the day for Harding. He scored 3 touchdowns and easily eclipsed 100 yds rushing for the game. The Hawks rushing attack was led by the offensive line consisting of Julian Wyatt '24, Ellis Masic '25, Ayden Love '25, James Ham '24 and Aryan Hassan '24. The line consistently moved the line of scrimmage to leave open wide rushing lanes for Whelan to take advantage of. Cam Boudreaux '24 scored his second receiving touchdown of the year, accounting for Harding's other score. Tyson Haddox '24 was on the receiving end of a 2 pt. conversion throw from quarterback, Robert Topping '24. The defense was stout for most of the game. Defensive ends Cam Boudreaux and Aryan Hassan were in the backfield all evening wreaking havoc while Brayden Colbert '24 was able to reel in an interception. Harding is back in action next Thursday, Sept. 14 in a home contest against Grace Christian Academy at 5:00pm. Come out and support the team! Go Hawks!!

Claire Dehner Competes in 2nd Mountain Bike Race of the 2023 Season
Our second mountain bike race of the season was on Sunday, 9/10, at Pugh Bourne Park in Jackson, TN. The conditions were great! It was a beautiful, warm and sunny day. The course is a fast, single track 3-mile trail with lots of switchbacks, short, steep climbs and loose, sandy dirt. Claire Dehner '25 was our only racer who could make it for the weekend. She and Coach Cribb pre-rode the course on Saturday to help prepare Claire for the next day's race. At the race on Sunday, Claire made the cut-off after her first lap (30:14) and finished her second lap in 33:16, for a total of 6 miles. This race was a test of fitness and focus. We are so proud of Claire's hard work and determination. Our next race is at Lock 4 Park in Gallatin, TN, on September 24th. The Lock 4 course is more technically challenging than our first two races. Our team will be working hard these next two weeks to prepare.
